Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Cutting-Edge Technologies in Science, Engineering and Management (ICETSEM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. The journal follows strict plagiarism screening procedures to ensure originality and authenticity of published research.

1. Definition of Plagiarism: Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, data, images, or results from other sources without proper citation
  • Submitting another author’s work as one’s own
  • Self-plagiarism, including reuse of significant portions of previously published work without disclosure
  • Fabrication or manipulation of data
  • Duplicate or redundant publication

2. Plagiarism Screening: All submitted manuscripts are screened using standard plagiarism detection software before peer review.

  • Acceptable similarity index: Less than 20%
  • Similarity from references, quotes, and common phrases is excluded
  • Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable limit may be returned for revision or rejected

3. Handling Plagiarism Cases

Before Publication: If plagiarism is discovered before publication

  • Minor similarity issues → Manuscript returned for correction
  • Major plagiarism → Immediate rejection and notification to authors

After Publication: If plagiarism is discovered after publication

  • The article may be retracted
  • A retraction notice will be published on the journal website
  • Authors’ institutions may be informed
  • Future submissions from the authors may be restricted

 4. Author Responsibilities: Authors must:

  • Ensure originality of their work
  • Properly cite all sources
  • Clearly disclose previously published content
  • Obtain permission for copyrighted materials
  • Submit a declaration of originality during submission
