Publication Ethics Statement

The International Journal of Cutting-Edge Technologies in Science, Engineering and Management (ICETSEM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and professional responsibility. The journal follows the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher involved in the publication process.

1. Ethical Principles: ICETSEM is guided by the following principles:

  • Integrity and transparency in scholarly publishing
  • Originality and proper attribution of work
  • Fair, unbiased, and confidential peer review
  • Accountability of all participants in the publication process

 2. Duties and Responsibilities of Authors: Authors submitting manuscripts to ICETSEM must ensure that:

  • The work is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere
  • All sources are properly cited and referenced
  • Data and results are presented honestly, without fabrication or manipulation
  • Any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools complies with the journal’s AI Policy and is appropriately disclosed
  • All listed authors have made significant contributions and approve the final manuscript
  • Conflicts of interest (financial or non-financial) are clearly disclosed

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices are considered serious violations.

3. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers: Reviewers are expected to:

  • Conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and within the agreed timeframe
  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited
  • Report suspected plagiarism, data falsification, or ethical concerns to the editor
  • Declare any conflict of interest and decline review when appropriate

Reviewers must not use submitted content for personal advantage or share it with third parties.

4. Duties and Responsibilities of Editors: Editors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process
  • Making publication decisions based solely on academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal scope
  • Maintaining confidentiality of submissions and reviewer identities
  • Managing conflicts of interest
  • Taking appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct

Editors must not use unpublished material for their own research.

5. Publisher Responsibilities: The publisher of ICETSEM is committed to:

  • Supporting editorial independence
  • Ensuring ethical oversight of the publication process
  • Addressing allegations of misconduct transparently and responsibly
  • Preserving the integrity of the scholarly record

Commercial considerations do not influence editorial decisions.

6. Plagiarism and Misconduct: All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening prior to peer review. In cases of confirmed misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical AI use, the journal may:

  • Reject the manuscript
  • Retract published articles
  • Publish correction or retraction notices
  • Notify authors’ institutions when necessary

7. Conflicts of Interest: All participants in the publication process must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or evaluation of the work.

8. Corrections and Retractions: If errors or ethical issues are identified after publication, ICETSEM will issue:

  • Corrections
  • Expressions of concern
  • Retractions

as appropriate, following COPE guidelines.

9. Ethical Complaints and Appeals: Ethical complaints and appeals related to editorial decisions or publication ethics will be handled transparently and objectively. The Editor-in-Chief’s decision, following investigation, is final.

10. Compliance with Ethical Standards: ICETSEM adheres to internationally accepted ethical standards in scholarly publishing and follows the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines.
